Höcker at the Midem

Like every year, Höcker will attend the Midem, the yearly music industry event in Cannes. The International Association of Entertainment Lawyers (IAEL) will organise its Legal Summit on Wednesday, June 6th. Marijn Kingma will participate in the “Legal Update” Panel and discuss how the GDPR may affect the music industry:

Knowing Me, Knowing You: GDPR in the Music Industry

As of 25 May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is applicable to all processing of personal data of EU citizens, and it may have implications for the music industry. Is visitor tracking at concerts and festivals allowed? How should consent be obtained? Can you exclude visitors on the basis of screenings? What kind of European bureaucracy is this anyway? These and other burning questions will be answered.

On Thursday, June 7th, Joep Meddens will participate in the IAEL “Meet the Lawyers” sessions. These are free  five-minute one-to-one consultations to provide guidance on relevant topics.
